About the Chair
The Chair’s purpose is to promote and advance original research in comparative public law and comparative institutional studies
Our project
The Chair in Comparative Public Law and Politics was created in January 2023. Our purpose is to promote and advance original research in comparative public law, institutional studies and comparative politics. Committed to interdisciplinarity and to innovative research methods, the Chair further aims to deepen our understanding of foreign political, constitutional and administrative systems, including among students and professionals.
The Chair operates across multiple fields of research and undertakes initiatives that are both diverse and complementary :
01.
Strengthening the international outlook of Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne by developing research partnerships both at home and abroad, notably with laboratories in Brazil, Canada, and Italy.
02.
Support for individual research initiatives by members of the Chair, particularly in fields related, but not limited, to the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy.
03.
Overall support for the continued development of the Observatoire du Brexit, the research group dedicated to the United Kingdom and the European Union post-Brexit.
04.
Active support for early-career researchers through the awarding of a full PhD scholarship and a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship.
05.
Assistance with the publication and translation of scholarly work.
06.
Creation of a digital bibliography accessible to researchers affiliated with the Chair.
07.
Fostering national and international comparative-law networks with kindred research laboratories.
