Lady Hale’s scholarly writings

Academically, Lady Brenda Hale has profoundly shaped British legal thought, particularly in family law, social welfare law, and equality law. A professor at the University of Manchester before joining the judiciary, she is the author of several books and articles that have become standard in British academic law, notably on the protection of vulnerable persons, women’s rights, and effective access to justice. We have chosen here to provide a non-exhaustive but representative list of her intellectual work in her first career, so to speak.
